I’ve always considered traditional art an important and indispensable component to any designer’s arsenal. Learning the basics of color theory, art history, intended audience (user experience), composition, media types, and more, should be the foundation that any design is built upon. Inspired by the movements and work of the many art colonies of historic New England, as well as the Canadian Group of Seven and the Hudson River School, many of my traditional paintings feature the rural New England landscape. My preferred materials are acrylic paints on canvas but I have also created works with oil, watercolor, and using linocut printmaking techniques. Here you can view a collection of my traditional artwork.
